Double stabbing in Torremolinos: Two young men receive knife wounds to the buttocks and ribs in unprovoked attack in the street

POLICE in Torremolinos have launched an investigation after two young men were attacked and stabbed by a group of youngsters for no apparent reason. The victims, aged 19 and 26, ended up in hospital with a series of injuries.

The incident took place at around 7am on Sunday morning, in a small street in the Bajondillo area of the Malaga municipality, according to Spanish press reports.

The two victims told the police that they came across a group of four or five people, whom they didn’t know, when the youngsters suddenly began to stab them without saying a word.

One of the victims suffered stab wounds to his buttocks and his ribs, while the other suffered a 20-centimetre stab wound in his ribs.

The investigation began with the search for security cameras that may have captured the incident, but as of Tuesday no suspects had been located or arrested.

The incident comes off the back of a series of criminal acts in Malaga province, starting on Saturday when a man in Fuengirola found his roommate dead. The victim presented injuries that suggested he had suffered a violent death, according to Diario Sur

Then on Saturday night, a 34-year-old man of Albanian origin was shot while he was in a restaurant in the Guadalmina shopping mall.

That incident was the sixth shooting in Marbella in just six weeks, a macabre record that had already prompted the authorities to beef up security in the area given the apparent rise in organised crime.
