REVEALED: These are the cheapest areas to fill up your car with petrol across Malaga province – including Fuengirola, Mijas and Antequera

EVER since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine sent oil prices shooting up, consumers all over Spain have been searching for the best deals when it comes to filling up their cars with petrol or diesel.

While the last quarter of 2023 saw prices finally falling, right now the cost of filling up your tank is at a record high for the year so far.

What’s more, experts predict future price rises as tensions continue to run high in the Middle East, particularly after Iran’s recent attack on Israel.

So where can residents of the Malaga province go to get the best deals?

Well, if you need petrol, the best place to head is Antequera. There, two filling stations are offering a litre of the fuel for €1.499.

They are, according to La Opinion de Malaga, Petroprix (Residencia de la Vega, 1) and Plenoil (Avenida Principal, 4, in the business park).

A third option for petrol is Gafisur (Calle Los Aclaradores, 10), while a fourth is another branch of Plenoil (Calle Bernardo Simón de Pindea, 1).

Both these latter options are also in Antequera, and are offering a litre for €1.509.

Meanwhile, for diesel, motorists should head to Agla service stations in the Guadalhorce valley. At the Casarabonela branch, which is at kilometre 33.2 on the Zalea to Ardales road, a litre comes in at €1.387.

Diesel is on offer at a slightly higher price of €1.389 at the Alga stations in Pizarra (on the Subzona Álora road), Ardales (in the business park) and Cerralba (on the crossing as you enter the municipality).
