A BUSY bus route in Barcelona has been removed from Google Maps to prevent tourists dominating the service.

It comes after years of complaints from locals.
The 116 bus covers the Park Guell area of Barcelona, a major tourist hotspot.
Once a quiet area for locals, tourists visiting the park have left the 20 seat service unusable for people going about their daily lives.
It is hoped the removal of the route from Google Maps will help to recover the bus for locals, who once used it to reach parts of the area with little transport.
