Guardia Civil and Calpe Policia Local units went to the scene as well as paramedics.
The first indication is that the French national shot the Spaniard three times and then turned the gun on himself.
Reports suggest the Spaniard was in his thirties and worked for Calpe council.
Inquiries are in their very early stage and no reason for what happened has been put forward.
It’s not known if anybody else was present during the shootings, but counselling is being provided to the two families of the deceased by Calpe social services.
