Ground-breaking UK Money Carer Foundation that stops vulnerable people from being financially ‘ripped off’ is expanding to Spain to help expats- and is recruiting team members

A UK foundation that manages money for vulnerable people is expanding to Spain, and is hosting an Open Day in Alicante this Friday to recruit part-time workers with experience in the social care sector.

The Manchester-based Money Carer Foundation is a national social enterprise founded in 2009.

The organisation provides management services for elderly and vulnerable people as well their carers and families who support them.

The Money Carer technology engine and banking platform is used in Britain by hundreds of law firms, local authorities and care providers to assist them to better manage the finances of their own clients.

Money Carer CEO, Sean Tyrer, said: “We in effect act as a Corporate Appointee to help thousands of people in the UK manage their welfare benefit entitlements.”

“Our service provides security and convenience, with access to real-time transaction information.”

Money Carer works hand-in-hand with carers, family members, social workers and other professionals to serve their clients in the best way possible and crucially- in their very best interest.

The foundation is now set to launch in Spain where it aims to end some of the sad cases of vulnerable people being ripped off by friends or disreputable carers handling their money.

Money Carer will look to help elderly expats, people with learning difficulties, and those who have had or still have substance abuse issues.

“We take on a legal role and take responsibility for a person’s finances by managing their finances via a single facility which includes receiving funds and paying bills,” said Sean.

To mirror what it does in the UK, Money Carer wants to set up a team in Spain and will hold an Open Day in Alicante this Friday(May 3) to get expats to work for them on a part-time or job-share basis.

Sean Tyrer said: “We are after people with experience who perhaps have been carers or worked for social services to join our innovative money management team.”

“It will be a unique opportunity to do some really fascinating and caring work!”

“The very informal Open Day is about introducing our company and explaining what we do as we try to create something in Spain that will be fulfilling for both clients and our staff,” Sean added.

He emphasised that the Alicante session will also be about getting the thoughts and ideas of people as to how Money Carer can work in Spain.

The event runs between 11.00am and 3.00pm at the Regus Offices, Business World Alicante, Antigua Casa del Mar, Avenida Perfecto Palacio de la Fuente 1, 03003, Alicante.
