Young expat, 27, plunges to his death after ‘trying to jump between two fourth floor windows’ on Spain’s Costa del Sol after he ‘forgot his keys’

TRAGEDY has struck the Costa del Sol after a young expat, 27, plunged to his death trying to climb into his fourth floor bedroom.

Erick Stiven Barajos Urrego attempted to scale his apartment building in Fuengirola after realising he had forgotten his keys.

According to MalagaHoy, the Colombian national left his bedroom in a shared apartment but the door shut behind him, leaving him unable to get back in.

In an attempt to access his room, he jumped from the kitchen window but fell four floors in the lift cavity between the two.

Firefighters were called to the incident, which occurred at around 10am on Wednesday April 17.

Although his situation was very serious, he was still alive when they arrived to calle Francisco Merino.

After being transferred to el Hospital Regional de Malaga, he died on Thursday evening.

A friend of Erick and family spokesperson told MalagaHoy the family had decided to donate the young man’s organs.

He arrived in Spain just over a year and a half ago.

His friends have begun a fundraising campaign on local social media accounts like Fuengirolasequeja to raise money to repatriate his ashes back to Colombia.
